Ship Trip FAQs

For ship trips, we require a deposit to secure your booking. Deposits for ship trips vary from $2000 per person to 25% of the tour cost. You pay your deposit at the time of booking and final payment is typically due 120 days prior to departure.

Our Ship Trips are generally a guaranteed departure and most do not depend on minimum bookings.

Notification of cancellation must be received in writing. Unless otherwise noted, the cancellation and refund terms of our ship trip providers will apply to your booking.

The payment and cancellation policy will be provided to you with your booking confirmation for your review and acceptance.

Please contact us if you would like to review the terms for the tour you are interested in advance of paying a deposit.

There is a five-day grace period where all deposits received are fully refundable for 5 days, as long as you are booking 120 days or more prior to your ship trip.

In most cases, less than 120 days prior to departure, deposits are non-refundable.

Passengers are strongly advised to obtain trip cancellation insurance at the time of deposit.

Any payments made to us for travel insurance are non-refundable unless the insurer provides a refund to us.

To review the full details of all our terms and conditions you may preview a Registration Agreement for a sailing adventure here and for an expedition cruise here.

On most of our ships, cabins have 2 berths. If you do not have a travel companion to share a cabin with, no problem! You can book at no extra charge, where you may be paired with another solo traveller of the same gender.

If you would like your own cabin guaranteed during your voyage, you can pay a single supplement. As space is limited, this option is not always available.

We can usually accommodate most special dietary concerns if we are given sufficient advance notice.

Expedition cruises and sailing trips necessitate that passengers be in reasonably good health. Zodiac cruises and transfer times can be lengthy. You must be able to climb stairs between decks on the ship. You must also be able to climb the stairs to transfer between the ship and the Zodiacs or dock. Our crew are available to assist you in and out of the Zodiacs, both on shore and at the ship.

Ship trips will also involve shore excursions, which may involve walking in variable weather conditions sometimes over rocky or uneven terrain. Guests can expect to be onshore anywhere from 45 minutes to a few hours and thus should be able to stand and walk for that amount of time. Wherever possible while on shore excursions, we will try to accommodate interest and physical ability. There is typically the option to stay behind onboard.

When your tour is confirmed, you will receive a “Participant Information Package” that contains important information about your trip destination and includes a suggested packing list, specific to the tour.
