In August we had 2 groups that explored birding hotspots across New Brunswick including the beautiful island of Grand Manan.

New Brunswick has a lot to offer in late summer – lush boreal forests, spectacular shorebird migration and tons of seabirds just to name a few. This tour was a wonderful way to sample it all!

In July we had 2 tours to the High Arctic & NWT. H

In July we had 2 tours to the High Arctic & NWT. Highlights were many including calling Yellow-billed Loons from up close, an Arctic Fox posing nicely, displaying King and Common Eiders, finding White-rumped- and many other breeding shorebirds, a Red Phalarope that swam by us from two meters distance, climbing the remote hill Mount Pelly, walking on ice sheets and so much more. This region truly is a gem and it was an absolute privilege to visit the Canadian arctic.

Although it is the newest province to be added to

Although it is the newest province to be added to Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador is filled with an incredible history of the earliest of North American explorers. Its geography and history make it not only an incredible place to see birds, but also a unique location to experience birds. Our group, along with Canadian Geographic Society ambassador Russell Potter, spent 9 incredible days exploring the breeding birds, culture and history of the 15th largest Island in the world.

In June we had an adventurous group that journeyed to the far north in search of walrus and polar bears. Check our our blog to read Steve's trip report.

“On the Saturday after our arrival we were ready to go out front of the hotel on a relatively ice-free shoreline (this would later change!). The destination was Qingusaa Island, about one hour from town to the east, by boat. Our crews of Timothy, Joabe, Matthew and Enoki were keen to show us their local hunting grounds. Things came together nicely today and we saw all of our target species for the entire tour: Walrus, Polar bear, Bowhead Whale and Bearded Seal!”

The eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies in Albe

The eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta are legendary for both landscape scenery and wildlife viewing opportunities. Neither disappointed as our group traveled west of Calgary to explore parts of Kananaskis Country, and eventually worked our way to Waterton Lakes National Park. We found close to 150 species of birds as well as iconic mammals, butterflies, and flora that make this part of the world so renowned.
