A lifelong Costa Rican naturalist, Jose Pablo developed his passion for exploring the natural world at a young age when he first observed a male Resplendent Quetzal in his grandparents’ small reserve in the cloud forest of Costa Rica. Since then, there’s nothing Jose Pablo enjoys more than being surrounded by nature, sharing exciting birds and wildlife with others and contributing to it conservation.
In addition to leading natural history and birding tours in a variety of countries in Central and South America, he has contributed on various research and conservation projects involving resident and migratory birds in Costa Rica. He is currently studying Bird-Plant Interactions and shares his data at www.avesyplantas.com, is also involved in habitat improvement and environmental education at key stopover sites for migratory birds, and is a founding member of the Cerúlea Environmental Association (www.cerulea.org).
