Logan is a Canadian Environmental Scientist and Ornithologist who has devoted most of his life to the modern dinosaurs we call birds. He grew up constantly in nature, and eventually narrowed his passion to birds as an early teenager. Within a few years, he had integrated himself in the birding community in British Columbia, assuming the position of Birding Director in his local naturalist club, leading bird walks and tours, and doing work in nature TV and radio. To solidify his avian path, he refined his skills by being chosen to attend the Young Birders' Event hosted by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and the Young Birders' Workshop in Long Point the year before graduation.
Once he began online university at Acadia and then Queens, he began studying bird breeding and migration on a deeper level in the Maritimes, and lived in Brasil for a summer on an extended paid internship. He then took a job working on a new AI model for Nocturnal Bird Identification for Acadia University, and began to travel more.
For the last several years, Logan has worked as an Environmental Scientist, leading avian field and acoustics programs, writing reports, teaching bird identification, and helping develop more NFC AI models. Outside of work, he makes music and plays basketball, but still makes time to continue his personal Canadian bird studies. With this knowledge, he will be publishing his first two bird books in Nova Scotia in the near future.
He has returned to bird guiding, and enjoys sharing his passion, incredible birds, and unforgettable experiences with everybody he can. His extensive experience in Canada, the U.S., Belize, Brasil, the Bahamas, Australia and more allows him to be able to connect people with several thousand species of incredible feathered creatures.
