Kaiden Bosch

Bird Guide
Kaiden Bosch - Bird Guide

Though Kaiden has been an avid naturalist for as long as he can remember, his love of birds stems from one fateful encounter with a bird feeder at age 13. Hailing from the Sunshine Coast bordering the Pacific Ocean of Canada, Kaiden has traveled far and wide in search of birds, both as a personal pastime and often for work. From bird banding in the steamy jungles of Belize, to seabird surveys in the misty fjords of the great bear rainforest, to lecturing aboard polar expedition vessels in Antartica and Svalbard, his keen interest in birds has continued to pull him all over the globe.

His guiding career started with multi-day sea kayaking trips both as a guide and outdoor educator. Over the last few years, Kaiden has been splitting his time working as a field technician for the Important Bird Area Program of British Columbia, and working as a naturalist guide on polar expedition  vessels. Some of his favourite projects he has worked on has included working with remote first nations communities in BC to document bird abundance at herring spawns, documenting nesting territories of American Goshawks, and conducting  neotropical owl surveys in Belize. Birding and Naturalist guiding has allowed him to not only observe birds, but also to connect with like-minded people and share his love and knowledge of the natural world. Some of his favorite bird families include Albatross, Jaegers, Alcids, Owls, Gulls, Hummingbirds and Wood-warblers. When not guiding, he can usually be found somewhere in coastal British Columbia or Alaska, sea kayaking, freediving, and of course birding.
