James Lees - Tour Development & Content Manager

James Lees’ passion for birds and wildlife began in childhood, growing up in England surrounded by nature. That early fascination developed into a lifelong commitment to bird conservation, research, and sharing the natural world with others.

James has worked at five Bird Observatories across the UK, gaining extensive experience in bird migration research, population monitoring, and public engagement. He also served as a warden at the world-renowned Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust reserve at Slimbridge, further developing his expertise in wetland conservation and wildlife interpretation. More recently, he has undertaken guiding and interpretation work with Birds Canada at the internationally renowned Long Point Bird Observatory, helping visitors experience one of North America's premier bird migration sites.

An experienced and enthusiastic tour leader, James has guided birding holidays across Europe, North America, Central America, Africa, and the Middle East. Known for his sharp field skills, infectious enthusiasm, and patient teaching style, he enjoys helping both experienced birders and beginners connect with birds and the natural world.

As Tour Development & Content Manager for Eagle-Eye Tours, James combines his guiding experience with designing innovative birding itineraries and creating engaging tour content, helping deliver exceptional wildlife experiences for travellers from around the world.
