Ben grew up in the city of Philadelphia. He always took an interest to the outdoors. In college he got into wildlife photography and wanted to know what birds he was photographing.
Ben began his birding journey along the New Jersey shore photographing the winter water fowl and shore birds that would pass through the area. He also would frequent several parks just outside of Philadelphia looking for songbirds.
After finishing college, Ben decided to pursue a career in the outdoors, and decided to leave the city behind. Eventually he made his way up to Alaska, and after a few summers, became a guide based on the Kenai Peninsula.
In his free time, Ben enjoys camping, photography, road trips, and of course, birding.
