Alec has had an intense passion for the natural world since before he could even talk. He spent his entire childhood exploring outdoors, reading bird books, and watching documentaries like Blue Planet on repeat. Birds and fishes have always been his main interests, though more recently, he has fallen in love with reptiles and amphibians.
In 2022, he left his frozen home state of Minnesota for the steamy tropics of Queensland, Australia where he studied Zoology & Ecology. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in 2025 and has since moved to Sweden and begun his master’s degree in Animal Ecology at Lund University.
One of his favourite pastimes is searching for, observing, and photographing wildlife of all kinds, and sharing this passion with other people. This hobby has taken him all across the United States and Australia, as well as to Borneo, allowing him to accumulate a wealth of experience. He lives by the idea that every species can be a source of fascination, no matter how common or rare, and hopes to share this infectious passion and energy with you!
