Tour Development & Content Manager

 

Location: Flexible / Remote (with collaboration across time zones)
Type: Part-time – approximately 20 hrs/week year-round
Salary: CA$30.50 – $34.50/hr
We anticipate hiring someone as an employee that is legally allowed to work in Canada. We will, however, consider hiring the right person from outside Canada on a contract basis. 

 

About the Role

Eagle-Eye Tours is seeking a Tour Development & Content Manager to help shape, refine, and present our birding tours to the world. This role sits at the intersection of tour design, storytelling, and visual content, and is ideal for someone who understands both why birders travel and how to communicate that experience effectively.

You’ll work closely with our guides and internal team to develop new itineraries, manage trip reports and bird checklists, curate imagery, and ensure our website and marketing channels reflect the quality and depth of our tours.

 

What You’ll Do

Tour Development & Product Content

  • Develop new birding tour itineraries, from initial concepts to detailed daily plans
  • Research destinations, species, seasonality 
  • Collaborate with guides and ground operators to refine routes and logistics
  • Write and review tour content and communicate key details to sales and operations teams

Trip Reports & Post-Tour Content

  • Collect, edit, and publish trip reports from guides
  • Curate, label, and manage guide and client images
  • Add eBird lists to trip reports and tour pages, or format/upload PDF versions
  • Create trip report summaries for social media and email newsletters

Website Content Management

  • Work with guides and management to review and update website content
  • Add and manage tour imagery to ensure pages are accurate, engaging, and current

Bird Checklists

  • Manage bird checklists used by clients on tours
  • Update taxonomy annually
  • Incorporate guide feedback and ensure clean, print-ready formatting

Image & Media Management

  • Source and organize images for tours and marketing
  • Manage image libraries (guide, client, and purchased) 
  • Support video marketing through stock footage sourcing and script development

 

Who You Are

  • You have strong knowledge of birding and birding travel
  • You understand what motivates birders to visit different parts of the world
  • You have an excellent eye for photography, imagery, and visual storytelling
  • Strong copy writing and editing skills
  • Strong computer skills including experience with website content management, spreadsheets, etc.
  • You’re highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects
  • You enjoy collaborating with guides, marketers, and operations staff
  • Experience with Lightroom and basic marketing workflows is a strong asset
