Olivier has been seriously passionate about birds since the age of eight. An avid traveler, he has a keen ear for bird vocalizations and for the varied linguistic sounds he comes across on his travels around the globe. Latin America has been a regular fixture and second home at times, but his thirst for discovery and challenges have him increasingly branching out to far-flung destinations. From guiding in Brazil's Amazon rainforest to visible migration counter on Quebec's North Shore, his extensive history of fieldwork has led him to develop an acumen for spotting rarities and sought after specialties.
He is well-known in Quebec as a reference on identification, status and distribution and serves on the provincial bird records committee. Trained as a bird biologist, and still at it when time permits, he is now occupied most of the year as a Park Warden for Parks Canada in the Montreal area.
