Jon Ruddy was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, and grew up with an appreciation for the Natural World. It was only in 2011 while taking an Ornithology Taxonomy course in University, did he fledge as a birder. It didn't take long before a budding interest became a full-on obsession! From 2012-2016, he spent his summers conducting bird surveys throughout Canada, and, by 2016, he made the decision to start working as a full-time birding guide based out of eastern Ontario. Since then, he has immersed himself in full-time bird study, never really feeling as though he’s “at work” whenever he’s out in the field. He is known for his keen eyes and ears, as well as his enthusiasm. Jon is thrilled to be joining the Eagle-Eye team and is co-leading his first tour this July. His favourite bird species is the Yellow-throated Vireo.
