Heidi KrajewskyExpedition Guide & Biologist
About Heidi Krajewsky
Heidi grew up in the bush of Northern Ontario, Canada. She went to sea during the summers as a teenager, then left home to work as deckhand on a schooner on the west coast of Canada. She met some of Canada’s great naturalists during those sailing voyages and had to learn more! After a Bachelor Degree in Marine Biology she returned to adventures both on land and at sea. She ran a 66-foot sailboat/research vessel with her husband for Raincoast Conservation Society for several years before heading to sea in their own yacht. For three years they explored the Pacific while sailing between Vancouver Island and Tasmania, stopping at many islands to look for endemic birds along the way.
Field work and adventures are now a full time lifestyle for Heidi. She has been working as a naturalist in Antarctica and the Arctic since 2005 and has made Southern Tasmania home. She volunteers as a caretaker for Tasmania Parks and Wildlife in remote locations like lighthouses and fly-in hiking camps.
