Scott is a professional photographer specializing in Canadian landscape scenery. He lives in Calgary with his wife, daughter, and their dog Jasper, where frequent backcountry mountain trips are a short distance away. Previously, he spent three years living abroad in northern Japan and backpacking through southeast Asia. This experience inspired him to see his home country of Canada in a new light. Devoted to exploring Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, Scott has embarked on a lifelong journey to depict the vastness and beauty of the Canadian landscape. Since his photography focuses on natural habitats, he has chosen to portray Canada from its natural physiographic regions rather than by its political borders. An accredited member of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), Scott has twice received the award of Photographic Artist of the Year (PPOC-AB), along with several best-in-class awards for his Canadian Landscape imagery. His photographs have been published on the cover of Canadian Geographic, and in Canadian Geographic’s Atlas of Canada, in addition to several magazines, books, and calendars. One of Scott’s images of the Battery in St. John’s, taken during an Adventure Canada expedition, was selected to represent Canada in the olympics of professional photography—the 2015 World Photographic Cup, held in France. Mindful of the importance of conservation and education, Scott donates 50% of the profit from each fine art print sold to two organizations: the Nature Conservancy of Canada, and the Royal Canadian Geographic Society.
