Jared Clarke
Jared Clarke is a native Newfoundlander who grew up on the northeast coast of the province and was introduced to the outdoors at a very young age – often by his grandfathers. Always a nature enthusiast, he became interested in birds while working for a local conservation group and never looked back. While his “day job” is that of a health researcher at Memorial University of Newfoundland, his passion is birding. He has led tours big and small across his province in his “spare time”, from historic St. John’s to the ancient Viking settlement of L’Anse aux Meadows on the northern tip of the island and many points in between. Combining his keen knowledge of local birds with a broad base of natural and cultural history, his tours are well-rounded and informative.
