Norbu is one of the few birding guides in Bhutan. He has been leading birding tours and exploring the country’s varied ecosystems for the past 10 years. He has spent countless hours finding the best locations to see rare species including all of the difficult Wren Babblers, pheasants, trogons and other important species for Bhutan.
With the help of his birding friend Tom Stephenson, co-author of The Warbler Guide, he has specialized in bird recordings and now has a large library, including songs donated to Cornell University and xeno-canto.
He has led many birding groups over the years and strives to help birders see their target species. In addition, he is knowledgable about the local culture, adding a fascinating look into the unique culture of Bhutan.
