Alex Lamoreaux has been an avid naturalist since he was a youngster, growing up exploring the farmland and forests near Hershey, Pennsylvania. His love of wildlife and desire for adventure has led him to travel extensively throughout the United States, Central America, and South Africa. Alex is a freelance biologist and nature tour guide. He has worked on many wildlife research projects, ranging from Whimbrel along the coast of Virginia to Yellow-billed Cuckoos in the desert southwest. His main interests are the visible migration of birds, especially raptors. He has been the migration counter at Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory for three seasons, documenting the massive migration that occurs along Lake Superior's north shore. Alex loves to share his knowledge of nature, as well as bringing the birding community together to share in the enjoyment that spending time in the wild has to offer.
