Tatiana Santander is a biologist from Quito. She has worked for Aves y Conservación, the Ecuadorian partner of BirdLife international, for about 10 years. During this time she has been involved in different projects with endangered bird species, bird monitoring, surveys for Cerulean Warblers in remote areas of the Andean foothills, aquatic bird censuses, avian influenza, and many others. Tatiana is strongly committed to avifauna conservation and has conducted several training activities for local people on bird observation and identification as a way to improve awareness of biodiversity and natural resources. Tatiana´s infectious enthusiasm for birds has made her much loved by participants on previous birding tours and she looks forward to sharing her knowledge on upcoming tours.
