Spirit
of Enderby

Our vessel, the Spirit of Enderby is perfect for our
type of expedition. It carries just
48 passengers in comfortable accommodation, the cuisine is excellent,
and the Russian crew enthusiastic. Measuring 72 metres in length, the ‘Spirit
of Enderby’ is fully ice-strengthened and capable of speeds up
to 12 knots. Equipped with our fleet of RIB’s (rigid inflatable
boats, sometimes called Zodiacs), the Enderby can get into places harder
to access for larger ships.
The name Spirit of Enderby honours the work and the vision of the Enderby
Brothers of London. The Enderby Captains were at the forefront of Antarctic
exploration for almost 40 years in the early 1800’s. It also
celebrates Enderby Island, one of New Zealand’s most interesting
subantarctic islands.
The public spaces are efficient and comfortable and include a bar and
lounge, two dining rooms and a lecture hall, and abundant deck space.
All cabins have a wardrobe, drawers, writing desk, in-room washbasin & private
facilities (unless stated otherwise).
